Katie Holmes is heading back to TV — for a guest role on ABC’s Eli Stone.
According to a source, she’s slated to in appear in one episode when the legal comedy-drama returns this fall. She’ll play a non-profit attorney whose mysterious case leads her to Eli (Jonny Lee Miller). Rumors that Tom Cruise would guest-star are incorrect, the source says. Cruise, Holmes and daughter Suri were spotted on the show’s set earlier this week.
The casting was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Eli Stone executive producer Greg Berlanti and Holmes previously collaborated on long-running teen favorite Dawson’s Creek, in which Holmes played Joey Potter.
This fall, Holmes will also make her Broadway debut.
She’ll appear six nights a week in a revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, alongside John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson in New York City. -people
